Nicklas Randau - Courtyard

Nicklas Randau (Sweden, born 1989) works with a gestural vocabulary in which each bruschstroke and color is infused with physical dynamic between movement and stillness. In spite of his abstract expression, natural forms and objects figure prominently in his paintings and drawings. Studies of a pillow or duvet is a way to explore the potential of both structure and meaning. In the drawing entitled "Virginia Wolf's Duvet", where an accidental paint drip from another painting opens up for alternative and intuitive interpretations. The exhibition is called Courtyard and showcases large and smaller paintings as well as works on paper.

On the opening day, the gallery holds an artist talk between the artist and Eric Schüldt, journalist and radio profile on Sweden's Radio P2. With Randau's abstract painting as a starting point, the two will talk about the themes of Freud's psychotherapy, poetry, literature, spirituality and classical music.
For the exhibition, Eric Schüldt has created a downloadable playlist.
